MARCHISTAS for Nike

A dream commission for Nike that started with the idea of showing the world what one person’s achievements can spark in an entire generation. Watching Erick Barrondo win Guatemala’s first and only Olympic medal in 2012, inspired and turned a legion of amazing kids onto race-walking.

It’s a privilege for me to be able to showcase these talented young athletes, their hard work, their love of the sport and their country, through this photo commission and mini documentary for the “In Good Company” series.

Guatemala is a land of volcanoes, explosions, earthquakes, roaring rivers and proud brown warriors, these kids represent that and much more; it brings tears to my eyes to be able to show the world how our future is being shaped.
